We're excited to introduce new programs this Fall 2021!
Bird Watching for Adults
A beginner friendly program for adults. Collingswood and the surrounding areas sit on the Atlantic Flyway, and Autumn is a wonderful time to experience the majesty of migration. An experienced birder will facilitate the group. Participants will learn proper binocular technique, be introduced to local birding spots in the area, and collaborate with each other to identify local and migrating birds. Some trail walking will be required.
Binoculars and transportation are not provided.

Limited to 10 participants per session (sign up for which sessions you'll attend)
The planned hikes are:
In the event of bad weather, hikes will be cancelled. The birds don't reschedule their migrations.

- Wednesday, September 22nd, 5:45pm:
- Newton Lake Park: Meet at the Bettlewood Bridge. A great mix of water foul, herons, flycatchers, woodpeckers, and warblers.
- Wednesday, September 29th, 5:45pm:
- Saddlers Woods: Meet at the path across from the middle school. Creepers, warblers, thrush, and a chance to see a great horned owl.
- Wednesday, October 6th, 5:45pm:
- Crows Woods, Haddonfield: Meet at the trail head. A great mix of everything, including owls, hawks, and warblers.
- Wednesday, October 13th, 5:45pm:
- Newton Lake Park 2: A chance to see early migrating ducks such as mergansers, buffleheads, and late migrating warblers.
- Saturday October 16th:
- OPTIONAL BONUS 8am meeting at Palmyra Cove Nature Preserve: This is a major birding site. It is quite large, and participants should expect to walk several miles. But expect to see potential rare visitors and a lot of warblers that stay away from more developed areas!

Art in the Park - Mixed Media
This session we will be exploring color theory through drawing, painting, collage, and more! Classes are held at the Knight Park Pavilion. The projects will be the same for both days, so please choose the one session that works best for you.
Grades K-5

One make-up day will take place the first week of November. In the event we have more than one make-up day, items and directions will be available for a fun take home project.
